We are very fortunate to have a number of special guests attend this event. We had four famous directors who have graced us with their presence all the way from Chennai,
Tamil films are no longer hidden in the background, and even
Ayngaran International, who is playing a key role in distributing Tamil films across the world have given their support to this event and we are grateful that Mr. Haran from Ayngaran was also able to join us here for the last day event.
The idea of this festival was to bring films that are based more on story than commercialism, from Directors who are not afraid to be different. We have screened 13 films, all of this nature. All of these films dared to stand out. They are carefully chosen films, with a variety of themes, such as culture, patriotism, friendship, romance and family values. They have shown all aspects of our lives, from adult to children, from the rich palaces to the slums.
On the last day i.e. 9th Feb, there was an awards ceremony and the Film Makers who made a difference were recognized. The first award was the People's Choice Award, which was selected based on the voting by the people who attended. The second award was the Midnight Sun Award, which was awarded to the film produced based on real story. The third one was the most popular film, which attracted the largest audience for the film screening.
